It includes: rent, food, travel to another Corps, books, Books, and two Salvation Army Events).
 
Program: 
Bible 
Read the New Testament in three months 
Read books to grow in knowledge, faith, and wisdom (topic of your choice: leadership, spiritual disciplines, Salvation Army, specific: Holiness, Love, Grace, Peace, etc…). 
Take part in a Bible Study with the Corps Officers.

Disciplines
Learn more about the disciplines that enrich our faith, choose a few to focus on regularly.

Language 
Learn and practice Italian (as soon as you know you are coming).

Prayer 
Shift in the prayer room every week.

Music 
Learn an instrument and practice it.  Be part of the brass band or Worship Team.

Ministries 
Pick a ministry and participate (Nursing Homes, Youth activities, Music school, Thrift Store).

Service
Selah Café: set the tables, serve, clear tables, load dishwasher with the cook and other volunteers
Sorting: Donations
Garden: Tend to garden with Corps Officers and Volunteers
Be willing to jump in and help where needed.

Mission Trip 
Within Italy (possibly two trips).

 

 

This Gap Year starts in Italy (3 months) then takes you out of the Schengen Area (for instance, to Moldova) and then takes you back in the Schengen Area. This partnership was developed with other Territories because it has become increasingly difficult to get a Visa for a Gap Year. By leaving the Schengen Area you are able to come back to it and stay for a total of 9 months in Europe. 
 
Every year there could be partnerships with different Territories. Don’t hesitate to contact us to find out more. 
 
As far as Italy is concerned the program remains the same as the 3 months sabbatical.

 

 

This Gap Year is for Salvationists and believers interested in a year of discipleship and intentional spiritual growth.  
If you are a US residents, it requires a VISA for which you need to apply for, unfortunately lately it has been impossible to get one as there is no category for Gap Years. 
If you are from Europe you will not need a VISA.
